About me

I’m not your typical dietitian.

My interest in nutrition began during my recovery from an eating disorder when I was 20. I learned what a significant and dramatic impact food has on how we feel in our bodies physically, mentally and emotionally.

Eventually, this experience lead me to become a registered dietitian and pursue a master’s degree in Nutrition at New York University. Once out of school, I worked at the Bronx VA Hospital, where I pioneered an Eating Behaviors clinic serving veterans struggling with eating disorders (the clinic is still running today!). This is where I first witnessed that patients were not getting the full support they needed. The traditional medical world was only treating patients’ symptoms and failing to see the person as a whole while also failing to prevent further health complications.

I then went on to practice at BALANCE eating disorder treatment center in NY where I ran nutrition groups and counseled clients one-on-one to help them heal their relationship with food.

As I started my own private practice focused on non-diet prenatal nutrition and supporting women with hypothalamic amenorrhea (missing periods), it became even more evident how complex and interwoven our health is. Your stomachaches aren’t caused by the food you eat necessarily, but more likely a combination of how you’re eating, your gut microbiome, your digestive health, stress, and a hormonal imbalance.

I am not interested in giving you short-term fixes. I want to help you understand your body so you can stop wasting precious time and money trying to subdue all the symptoms. I want to help bring balance back into your life and body so you can finally feel better and go do the things you actually want to do.

I believe that…

your body has the ability to heal

you are a crucial member of your health team

nutrition is not a one-size-fits-all

your symptoms or lifestyle choices don’t define you

restriction is not the answer

eating doesn’t have to be confusing or stressful

we can learn about ourselves every day

calorie counting is not the road to health

being the smallest you can be doesn’t = health

food is medicine
